We were gone for a while, almost an hour, I'd say.
When we got home, I decided a quick bathroom break was in order. I went to the bathroom, lifted the lid - and there was a dead mouse in there. Drowned.
Talking it over, it's pretty likely that the mouse came in from the plumbing and drowned because the lid was closed and it couldn't get out.
...so, um, yeah! I'm never going to be able to use the bathroom without worrying about rodents coming up through again.
